Firstly...Happy Thanksgiving to all. Here's a thread to show off your Thanksgiving feast, whether in the smoker, on the grill, in the oven, or on the plate....anything goes. I'll start with perhaps an unorthodox Thanksgiving smoke of pork butts for pulled pork. We have a very large family gathering tomorrow so there will be plenty of traditional turkey and ham, etc.. These are from Sam's club. I left the fat cap and skin on. One is slathered up with molassis and both are rubbed with GMG pork rub. I started them at 7:00am this morning and this picture is about 5 1/2 hours into the smoke when I opened for the first time to add meat probe thermometers. Daniel Boone is locked in at 225 deg and holding very well with low pellet usage using new thermal blanket. I'm going to take them right up to about 205 degrees then put them in foil pans and tent with foil for an hour or so before pulling.
That looks AWESOME! I do an A$$ load of smoking and grill cooking, No such thing as an unorthodox Thanksgiving, We do a seafood Thanksgiving every three years….. Eat what you got
We have 2 -15 lb. turkeys plus all the fixins' for around 15 people. I can't take credit for any of it though.. Happy Thanksgiving to all of my friends here! Ray
Man, I wish I didn't have to work! I will post a turkey in this thread, but it will probably be December before I do.
Turkey, stuffing, garlic cheddar sourcream mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, corn, dinner rolls, cranberry sauce, sweet potato and Dutch Apple pie, cider and pumpkin ale. Prepared in 4 hours, consumed in 30 minutes. Fat belly, couch time!
Thanksgiving was cold. Didn't take any food pics, but here's me and some family enjoying an outdoor fire after the feast.
Cooked them on the trailer/cooker, didn't turn the oven on. It was for the church's Thanksgiving dinner....gave all the leftovers out...sorry
We had a great Thanksgiving. Very traditional Thanksgiving for my family. We celebrate out anniversary on Thanksgiving too. Then we eat a turkey dinner that can't be beat! I asked my future son-in-law to do the hornors this year. He did a pretty good job. Then, of course we all know what comes next. ...after the pie of course. Then a nap.
Congrats. Looks like a good time! Good eatin' happening there. That Turkey looks "well seasoned" and that cake looks delicious.
Thanks Old. Your killing me with those pics! Haven't had supper yet and I'm hungry! Awesome pics and Happy Anniversary!
Thanks buddy! Where did those years go, hey?! Congrats on yours too. I think that officially makes you and "oldtimer" or something,
