Sorry to hear about the sciatica Dex - I went through it in 2010. was fortunate that one shot and self directed PT along with losing some of the belt over hang got me straight.
My wallet doesn't stay in my back pocket anymore either.
It gets you down mentally, not being able to do things you once did routinely. Only advice I have is see a real orthopedic surgeon and get an MRI if directed, chiropractors have their place, but for the most part they just want to put a ring on your finger;)

Nice. That's a great area. Not as desert-like, with more seasonal change with some great landscape/views.

Your firewood is in a heap? Don't say that too loudly!  I'd say get as much split as you can and stack it so if you need it you can use it in Feb / March.

    And also.... RUSH RULES!

Right where I want to be.
If I cared to do the math, I'm probably burning less compared to several years ago.
When I started, it was 5 cords of all Oak, now it's about a cord of Pine, almost the same Maple, then the rest being Oak. Still burning about 4.5-5 cords but 40% is lesser BTU wood.

I've got about 1.3 cord of 2 yr seasoned silver maple for this shoulder season then about 2.5 cords of 2 yr seasoned sugar maple for the cold days and just under a cord of honey locust for the really cold days. I'm ready for whatever Mother Nature has in store for us this winter :fire:
