Just grabbed another truckload of nice, seasoned Lodge Pole pine for shoulder season. Don’t forget about shoulder season, friends! I don’t want anyone to be uncomfortably chilly this fall!
SS wood for me has been mainly wood that I want to get rid of (chunks, punky). This year may be the first year I don’t have any as I burned the last of it in April and haven’t cut any since then. Ash and maple would be my shoulder wood I guess but they’ll get me through all but the coldest days here in Virginia and then I switch to oak. Also interesting to hear when SS starts for others. I usually don’t think about a fire until October. Late September is when I check the stove, firebrick, and alarms one final time.
Oh gee, I thought wheat grew like timothy grass. This changes my whole perspective on the scale of patented wheat seed.
