I’ve been running Shindaiwa blowers. Probably not as well known as Stihl and not trying to hijack thread, but the last one I picked up for $50. Look for a used Stihl and you might find a good deal for much less than the price of a new one. [IMG][IMG]

Every stihl backpack blower ive seen that actually gets used hard ends up on the scrapheap. 4mix is great for trimmers, but they just dont last that way the redmax or shindiawa blowers do. This will be the 6th year on my redmax, probly 250-300 tanks of fuel on it and it runs like brand new.

So how did you modify the blower housing, fan & tube to get the volume of the 600 from the BR450 with modded muffler?

Keep your handheld, invest in a good backpack, you'll use both; the handheld to get things away from close to the house, under the decks, around the heat pumps/outside units etc. and into the open, then the backpack for the open areas. If you have a large property, you may even want to invest in a Little Wonder (8hp or larger) to really get things done in a hurry in the open areas!

Awesome! Adjust the valves on it when you get it.

    thats how i bought mine.
i dont have a big property, but im in a hollow and surrounded by trees.
I grew up with 33 oak trees on 2.5 acres. there were times we hauled 50 dump truck loads of leaves out in a weekend.
i hate leaves and i just want to get it over with!
give me the biggest baddest leaf blower you got!

I have a echo backpack I bought in the 90's. I put a throttle cable and fuel rubbers in it, that's all. Before the echo I bought a Stihl bg something hand held. It makes my hands go numb. I still use it a few times a year with the gutter cleaning attachment though.
