been out shooting all day, had a go at the pigeons eating the crops spring rape,witch they love to eat ended up with 84 pigeons, any one else go shooting on saturdays, i shoot every saturday done it for years,thats my day of rest,we shoot woods pigeons over here you dont have them. when i first went to the usa i was looking for them,but they were not there,if you like shooting pigeons you would love to shoot these,
Not sure if what we have is pigeons or doves, but we have 'em. Don't know if they're considered "woods" birds, although we basically live in the woods.
None here but yes, we have doves but although our state has attempted to put a season on them the anti hunters seem to be able to stop it. And to think that it is law (voted on by the people) that game laws need to be set depending upon biological reasoning and not political... Not a lot of hunting goes on here during summer months. Turkey season is winding down this weekend. Not a whole lot going on now until September.
trouble is here if we stopped wood pigeon shooting they would eat all the crops. iv seen 4 hundred acres of rape eating in 2 weeks here, on one of the farms i shoot.so we have to hit them hard in the winter months.and still shoot them in the summer after the crops are cut,
