I don't think it is. It is more of a case of letting the mailman know that he screwed up in delivering it.

I had a package delivered by smart post and I got to track it, well it was painfully slow getting here and toured a good part of the south before I finally received it...Never again...

Mine evidently has a short memory, because he's pretty regular about bringing someone else's mail to my house.
Happened just a couple days ago.........again. That flag is getting a gooder workout.

The UPS drivers told me that UPS did not want them to leave anything at a business without a signature. I asked them why that was because they will leave laptop computers and stuff laying on porches all over the countryside at residential places without a signature and they didn't know.

I ship and receive a lot daily.
Had pretty good luck for as much stuff that's shipped in/out.
Some Amazon packages makes me wonder how goodachit their employees are smoking. Had prolly 8-10 packages in last couple years where some stuff is missing . 2 packages were empty .
Heavy stuff seems to really get abused.

My ups lady is great. The dog gets in her truck and she feeds him treats. It's hilarious.

So they can delay someone's mail from arriving even further?

I've actually received the same letter that we marked " not at this address" when it was clearly mailed to a different address than mine. So, there's that level of incompetence going on here.

Put an "In Care of John Brown" (or whoever) as the second line of your address. That should work.
