I had planned to. It is a mixture of 066 parts and was done by Brent Combs. The cylinder and covers are Red light but the crankcase is a early poly flywheel type. The starting handle is from a 460 rescue saw. It is just woods ported. You can run it all day. It has been around North Central Ohio since around 2008.
My 90cc cookie cutter / work saw.. I think Andy was diggin on how the ole 9010 was kicking the crap out of a hot 288... I use an 8 also, with a 72dl chain on a 20" bar.. Helps reach through larger cants without taking the big felling spikes off...
Some vid of the fun... http://www.arboristsite.com/community/threads/midwest-sawfest-ia-mo-spring-gtg.249173/page-68
How much do you shape the tie straps or clip the tail of the cutter. I was going to grind some 325 chain but it sounds like a waist of time. Sticking to 3/8 chain. I did some 404 but have not tried it yet. I did get to try the 3/8 LP square chain. Me like! I think I have the theory of square chain but not the time to put paper to practice. Don't think filing in the hotel rooms would go over very well.
Hey Sam-tip.. Don't know how I missed your 1st post, but this is the first one I seen. Welcome to FHC.
40 something years ago I built model airplanes in hotel rooms all the time. There was a lot of sanding dust???
Less weight and drag. The chain wasn't done there. I had finished clipping the heel cleaning the gullet and tunneling a little bit on the cutter. The rakers a been thinned but not set yet.
Here's a video of the 550 with the chain I filed to send off to a chain race and didn't get to finish the rest up on it. Chips in my hand at the end.
9 pin wouldn't fit. Have to trim the bar. I put an 8 pin on and run it. The chain needs more raker depth for a big saw.
