Yup. They seem to have been wrong there. I think there will be totals south and southwest of Boston in the 24-30” range.. but certainly not widespread.. top wind speeds on the coast around 80 mph..
We have some rain, ice and some snow coming at us, from todays report we have 12-18 inches of snow for our area. I didn't have much diesel on hand so I filled up two five gallon cans and put another three gallons in another that made a total of 15 on hand. We had three bags of pellets here so after getting the diesel I picked up another eight bags. We also put in two loads of some soft maple, sugar maple and some yellow birch along with a partial load of ironwood. I'll gas up the sleds and then go fill those cans for the generator if we need it, we should be ready once I check the gas for the chainsaws. We did take the snowmobiles off the trailer today and took them for a ride, since we didn't use them last year, I thought that my old arm would be tired from trying to start them but they fired up after the fourth pull. Since we haven't had any wet heavy snow that makes a good base, the trails are down to rocks in certain areas and pretty thin in others.
I would like to say fine, but she has been trying to shake a sickness that has been hanging on for a few weeks. She got sick right after I had my sinus infection cleared up. She tryed going back to her routine last week at 1/2 speed for one day, but didn't do so well. Got real tired once again. Thanks.
Good luck to all with the winter storm sweeping across the US. We are expected to get ice. 1/4 inch of it covering most everything. No plans to head outside anytime today.
We received eight inches of new snow but it was a mixture of sugar snow and some wet stuff, three driveways plowed.
Yesterday started as rain, then freezing rain, then sleet, then finally snow all night. Roads were bad this morning but I made it out an about all day. Interstate was clear by 5 when I headed home but the state and county roads were still a little tricky.
What you end up getting over there? We got about 16" and it's still coming down now. I'll be passing through your town tomorrow mid afternoon and again early evening
I'd say somewhere around 12 to 14 and still snowing. The early stuff was mixed with rain so clearing it this morning was like moving concrete. The stuff coming down this evening is light powdery snow. Going to be crazy through Crawford Notch (and all over the area) tomorrow with the Mount Washington Ice Fest going on this weekend.
Ugh, Conway on a weekend? You're a brave soul. If you don't need to go to North Conway, I would recommend taking the West Side Road bypass. One of your trips through the area we'll have to grab a bite at Cabin Fever. Friends of mine are the owners, which is always a good thing when there is only one restaurant in your village. I love the fact that I can ride the snowmobile from my house right to their front door.
