Watched some footage of your state tonight before leaving work...you all got it before we did. Roads were boringly clear driving home around midnight. Its piling up now though. We've beel looking forward to a gollywhomper for a.few years now. Sca
On the leeward side of the house, facing the southwest, the wind and snow is forming a cornice. I turn around and the swirling snow is getting to the deck rack. It's difficult to say with sideways snow, but I'd guess we have ~3in, so far.
I just went out in this R.I. mess to get ahead on some of my plowing. In traveling from one place to another, you can't see, which means others can't see you. Even with a rooftop beacon and flashers on you are almost invisible.
Weeeelllll......nah not yet. Hoping. Maybe 3". There's hope yet! We have a pot of chowder on the wood stove, fish (a mix from our local korean store) will go in just before lunch. No plans to move today. Unless things get interesting in town (). The remote start will be a blessing today! But don't have a major fire today.....winds prohibit "flying the ladder" on the big truck, any medical response will be delayed. Even small fires which require any formal response.....delayed. I hope everyone has SEVERAL fire extinguishers handy, and knows how to use them. It is absolutely beautiful outside today. Sca
No fire and no loss of electricity. The bucket trucks won't go up with these gusts. Stay safe everyone!
We have another storm coming at the east, a Groundhog Day storm. On the coast could get hit with rain after you get all the snow, Accu has our area getting 10 inches of snow the night of Feb. 3. The forecast will change but it's worth keeping an eye on.
Today the Weather Channel has us getting 3-5 on the night of Feb. 2, 3-5 during the day on Feb. 3 and 5-8 at night on Feb. 3. We were going to put in two loads of firewood tomorrow but with a possible storm coming in, we'll put in three loads instead of two. That will allow me time for plowing our driveway and the neighbors I help out.
I work outside, play outside, and like to be stuck inside now and again. But the snow is beautiful, and watching it pile up makes me giddy. I dont know what would happen, but It would be cool to see a few feet piled up here. I wonder if the place would be warmer with a good snow cap, and a nice blanket up to the second floor windows? And....we've spent a bit of time becoming a little prepared, we like and need a little real world scenario to show us where we really are. The wood stove was our last big prep item. Sca
So far I'm going to go with "meh" on this "noreaster" we were supposed to be getting. I've got nothing on the deck, maybe 6" in the yard and highest wind gust of 18.3 mph. Apparently gone are the days of 36" and 30-40mph winds. I guess global warming is real afterall.

I am not, in the "greater seacoast" area of NH. The area where we were told to expect 12-20" I know a long way to go, but it better pick up. The last radar loop I saw showed a slowing of precipitation.
