I guess no news is good news but after they do the operation, they would need to move him because of some other issues he has, they called 10 hospitals and not one had room.

I sent out a text to our customer list in August, stating we were starting to cut firewood. If they wanted some this year, please order now. All but a few did order soon after. The ones that didn't....sorry if you get some greener wood when it's cold...
I think we have done 23 cords since the end of May. We were cutting cooking wood early spring.

My local FD put out a notice about the potential for 1-2 feet of snow for Saturday.

Think ahead New Englanders! Be prepared.

The person that fell, broke their hip and leg, he did get moved to a different hospital so that is good but I'm sure he's in for a long recovery.

They are forecasting a blizzard for the northeast, starting tonight.

All the words being used: N'oreaster, blizzard, bombogenisis, power outages, Tidal flooding.

We're in the East side of 24+

Shopping already done. Batteries, flashlights, and candles at the ready. I might even fill a 7gal water jug. Extra wood will be inside, in storage totes.

    Soup is on the menu!

**edit** I forgot one - thunder snow

Yikes! I can't imagine. Too easy to just go on and fill that jug. Do you have a generator. Any outside animals to worry about/deal with? Can't imagine having to feed cows anytime within days after that storm.... Good luck, and stay safe and warm!

Not enough land here for animals.

No genny. We are on our own well and septic. Being on a state highway, we lose power very infrequently and for short durations.

We have a propane cooktop to cook, if needed. And of course, pulenty of wood.

FREE SNOW SHOVELING CLASS: This Saturday, I will be holding a FREE snow shoveling class in my driveway. Come and join the class and learn about the proper ways to shovel. Reviewed techniques will include the scoop and throw method, the down and push method (AKA the plow technique), as well as the upside-down scraping technique. Don't miss out on this amazing opportunity to enhance your snow lifting techniques without throwing your back out! I will provide the driveway and multiple walkways to ensure your training is conducted in the most life-like situation. I only ask that you bring your own shovel (Ergonomical designs suggested). Spaces are limited and handled on a first come, first served basis. PM for address!

I'm watching the latest with a skeptical eye. Too many times lately they have predicted doomsday weather and we end up with a dusting.

Always prepared just the same. Genny tested, plenty of food (always the case) extra gas on hand, and a few extra bags of pellets inside.
