The moon was quite orange last night and the sky/sun is quite hazy today. I can't smell smoke though.

How high were your winds yesterday Canadian border VT ? We were very lucky we didn't get the high winds when we were at a party in a big tent next to a couple of good size trees at a house on the St. Lawrence River. :picard:

Sorry woods I think I posted in BS ing thread:emb:
I think we got 40 - 50 mph. Since I have had an F-0 tornado and it was 85 mph winds that caused house fire.. all trees are cut away from house. And if wind doesn’t blow siding or Facia off. It’s no big deal! I lost a couple 30 year old poplar snapped half 20 feet up

When I was watching the local news, they said the Ogdensburg Airport recorded winds at 63 mph.

This storm dropped in today. Wind gusts, heaviest rain I've seen this summer and small hail.

This was pretty impressive a couple weeks ago. Thankfully, didn't last long and didn't cause and real damage. Phew.

Yay! kiddo is doing better after a bad cold and the wildfire smoke made her cough worse. Boooo, WWW is pretty sick now (yes they both went to doctors and got meds). Double Booo I'm starting to cough :picard: Fingers crossed it's just the wildfire smoke.

I heard thunder for hours, and could hear and see separate storms hitting to the west, then the north, then the south (I'm in a valley, which means those storms are pretty close since the mountains are in the way). It did sprinkle at my place for a couple of minutes, but that was it.

Thanks! Kiddo is 3/4 the way better and I'm grateful WWW woke up the same sick, not worse (I was pretty worried it was going to get worse). I'm still NOT sick :) But WOW, the smoke is so thick here I cannot see the mountain behind me. Literally behind me. Darkish and a weird glow from the sun. Pretty sad, kiddo is only 10, and 4 of her summers in her life it's been too smoky to go outside  Atleast she had June and a couple weeks in July.

I had to go into town this morning and the smoke was very visible and you could smell it but it did decrease as the day wore on.

We had some storms move through here but the worst of it missed us, thankfully. We did get over an inch of rain. Now it even looks steamy outside and i just turned the air conditioner on. Will probably leave it on the next 2 or 3 days with it being sticky. I hate that.

We had the smoke here in the northeast, earlier in the week.

It's been outta here for a few days, but forecasted to return in a few days.

They took the threat of rain out of today's forecast.

There is even the potential during this event for the severe winds to run along a continuous 240-mile-long path, called a derecho.

"Gusts of 80 mph are forecast with locally higher gusts possible if the line can materialize," Bauer said.

The AccuWeather StormMax™ wind gust potential with the storms on Wednesday is rated at 100 mph.
