We lost A LOT of the snow pack yesterday, I noticed it when I was driving into the neighborhood last night. I just flipped on the lights in the backyard, and its lots of bare spots. I suspect it will all be gone by EOD. Wind doesnt sound like its doing much, so hopefully that state line is doing its job and keeping it at bay!
My snow is all gone, except where it's piled it up. I stepped outside and the ground felt squishy, so I guess it's all soaking in.
Absolutely pouring here. Incredible wind gusts last night and this morning. Between yesterday and this morning the 8-9” or so of remaining snow is all gone. As seen on M2theB’s map him and I are right in the 60-65 mph zone.
The good news is now that the snow is gone I can get some loose thrown piles of Black Locust, Black Birch, EWP, and Apple in cages
Good thing its going to get cold again tonight. I need to reload the wood bin on Sunday, and move the rest of the wood into the shed.
Lots of rain. Standing water in low parts of the yard. As Molly said, snow pack gone. Remaining snow just where it was piled up. Not too much of big gusty winds. Another couple of hours before it moves east of us. Power is stable here. Nary a flicker. There are outages in the area. Fingers crossed. Cold wood stove. No fire today. Not needed. A good time to clean the stove and build a fire to be lit later this evening. Stay safe everyone!
Snow was almost all gone yesterday, just some plowed piles left. Hasn't rained much yet (not too many minutes away) .
We had a good amount of rain. Literally no wind. Snow in the yard last night walking the dog. Completely bare this morning. All the wood to be processed is open now. This is one of the downed spruces to process that I grabbed a pic yesterday. Little yield, but maybe lots of kindling to put up in the barn. Good grief.
It rained pretty good overnight but the winds missed us which we don't mind. It's not a white Christmas but they're calling for 1-3 on Saturday.
Didn't get much wind, but has rained plenty. Still have decent snow cover but the paths are widening quickly. All the work I did yesterday paid off. About an hour ago: The water is running good to the drainage area On the other side of the house, the swamp is starting to drain water without impedance of snow (the dark part toward the right). The rest of that darkish area is soaked snow still.
Definitely! Pics taken about 4:30 last night. The reflection from the neighbor's lights help you see the stream and pond that have developed in back. The "stream, starts another 10-15' to the right of the picture. Garage stayed fairly dry - I don't think the sump pump ever even ran so that part of my mitigation plan worked well too
We lost all of our 6"-8" of snow... ... about 2" of hot water winter rain can do that... ... fits 2020 perfectly... Could always be much worse, I know... sooo... ... harrrrumph...
With the heavy rain all day yesterday, and freezing temps today, there should be plenty of skating opportunities for kids.
