NYS is bad too, the only way you can build a dam is if your a beaver. By the looks of a swamp not far from here that is next to State route 56, the beaver dam will have to be blown up or the road will flood. I think the DEC or either the town did it about five or six years ago because it was flooding out a driveway and getting close to a home, went to work in the morning and it was full but when I came home it was bone dry.
Made it through.... apparently it wasn't that bad, except for that one lightening strike... that woke me up off the couch at 8:30...
That went through here over the last 2 days. winds were up and down , Creeks and such topping out at the banks so some flooding is occurring here and there.
The first storm went north of here in Hannawa Falls NY with winds that radar indicated at 70 mph. We had a hard rain but nothing for winds (the storm went north of us) the dog has calmed downed and the sun is out......waiting for round two.
The sky is getting dark again so we have this coming at us, the dog is in the laundry room so if she heads to the basement we'll follow. Looks like it’s worse over your way but we’re getting some pretty heavy winds here too, gusts up to 65. Had to retrieve my mailbox from a little ways down the road after work and we just lost power about 20 mins ago.
It's all missed us so far, I did see in the Buffalo area they had around 33,000 without power. Did you lose any bills?
Yeah I’m not sure if they’ll take that as an excuse. Had my dog eat them a couple times but they still wanted their money....
Under a severe thunderstorm warning until 9:30. Lightening, winds up to 60mph & nickle sized hail possible. I see the line on radar, won't be long until it gets here. High wind warning from midnight tonight through 8 am tomorrow morning. Gonna be a long night here!
The county got hit hard with trees down allover, we'll be without power for awhile. My fingers are to big for typing on this little phone. without power for awhile.
Got home from work at midnight and no thunderstorms but wicked winds with a few alarms at our stations. This is up by Toronto. 2 dead, thousands without power due to winds in Ontario
6 in the morning here, and the sun is out, we have a bank holiday on monday, and its going to be a nice week end at last, so out with the beer.
Massive wind last night and about a minute of hard, driving rain. Rain stopped, wind didn't. Now it is just breezy with what the local news is calling 26 mph gusts. Should calm down some in the next hour or so. Hope so because I will be participating in a ride with a big group of people and big wind is not conducive to formation riding.
We had pretty substantial thunderstorms last night. There was some hail, but only pea sized. The winds were bad during the storm and we received 0.91" of rain in about an hour. Things calmed down and we never lost power. 1:15 a.m. the winds they were talking about came. I woke up quite a few times, but no damage as far as I can tell. Leaving for work in an hour, we'll see what the outside world looks like. Are you still w/o power Woody?
