Some sleet here, overnight. Just warm enough for no freezing rain.

I think I'll take a pass on running the marathon this year to feed the stove and enjoy the warmth.

We hit 42 this morning with some winds but all the ice was off the trees so that was good. Most of the schools in this area are on a two hour delay.

Chit is blowing hard here. Ice flying everywhere and hitting the cars house etc. No trees down yet, still have power.

I need to get my weather station up higher. It never reads the real gusts! This irritates me!

That's a good height, right around where the readings should be taken for accuracy.

The winds have gone so we're just waiting for some rain, the water on the river across the road is high especially if you live on the water down in Colton on the Gulf Road, it's started to surround one camp/house along with moving up the yards of a bunch of houses.

Stay safe everyone. Yes, the Connecticut river one town over is flooding. Across the river is maidenstone, also flooding.

The last snowfall in Tupper Lake NY didn't help, they received around six inches of the wet snow so all that is coming down the river out front but back here after having some nice days it seems dry.

It just seems crazy that have a whole alert for one or two rivers that always have the flood in the same spot. 40 years ago they cure the problem because during the dry periods and go down with an excavator and pull the gravel out of the bottom of the river. They're not allowed to do that anymore and erosion fills the riverbed. So these problems are only going to get worse not better. Just my opinion.
