Area towns report just over 27 and 26 inches. Gearing up and heading out to snowblow, shovel, and roof rake for the morning, Sent from my SM-T280 using Tapatalk
They predicted it 6 last night 4 to 6 inches.. thewoodlands was closer with 12.. Not really problem but helped plow last nite.. So then
We spent close to 4 hrs. cleaning up, including roof raking. All the trees I cut over the last month are buried. It'll be while before I can split, and get back in the woods.
24" was the official total here. 3 rounds of cleanup made it easier. I have a leaking head gasket on the smaller snowblower. 2 bolts loosened up.
Very little shoveling, the snowblower does 97% of the work. While I was blowing snow, the wife & son started brushing off the snow until they finally found a vehicle. Once I got a space to pull forward, Any snow they pushed with shovels into a pile and I would blow that away. Plus I did the older folks across the road driveway. And trails to outbuildings, and the stacks, ...................
I'm glad that I plowed the driveway last night, I had an appointment early this morning so I had the truck pointed out with the four wheel drive locked in. The roads were pretty bad but I made it in and back.
I read your post about more incoming storms so today I saw this, I might want to charge the boat batteries. The next storm could reach the Northeast as early as Tuesday. It's nearly a week away, but at this point it looks like the storm will track father out to sea than the previous three storms, said New York state climatologist Mark Wysocki. "The question is whether this turns out to be another coastal storm," Wysocki said. "If it does, it does not look to have the same impacts as the last three." The storm system is approaching the Rockies now, Wysocki said, but has been slowed down by a large high pressure system dominating the middle of the country. What's unclear right now, he said, is how long that high pressure will keep the storm system at bay, and what will happen to the storm once it punches through. "It won't clear the Rockies until Saturday morning, and then it's going to take its sweet time getting here because of that high pressure," he said. "Right now the uncertainty is very high." This next storm might not be the end of it, either. The most recent predictions of the National Weather Service's main model runs shows the potential for three additional storm systems to hit the Northeast, Donegan said. Cold air will remain locked into Upstate New York for the rest of the month, Donegan said, so any storm could bring snow. If the storms end up on the warm side, though, Upstate could see heavy rain, which could cause flooding because so much wet snow from previous storms remains on the ground. "It just keeps piling up," he said. Brian Donegan ✔@WxBrianD Not 1, not 2, not 3, but 4 more messy low-pressure systems could bring snow or ice to the interior Northeast through March 30, according to the latest GFS model. 11:12 AM - Mar 14, 2018 See Brian Donegan's other Tweets
Thanks for the info, even though it stinks. I got a lot done in February, but I'd like to be working outside now. My splitting spot under a big pine tree is somewhat sheltered from the snow, and the sun melted some off today. Maybe I can get back to it tomorrow.
We recieved about 18" and its still snowing with another 4"-7" expected before its over tomorrow morning.
I just checked the weather radar as I did not realize this system is still over N.E. I thought it went out to sea. What a slow mover. The sun helped decrease the snow depth today.
Oh, .. No joke I think last time I saw it was March 3rd.. Been cloudy and white stuff in sky ever since.. But hey its warm in here
We saw no sun today. Amazing the length of time for sure! Yes, looked like half packed down since i left this morning. Did Champlain open up at all from ice? And northern NH!
