Hopefully this season dies down quickly! The halfwits are starting to blame Trumps hurricane machine that is sending the storms into their regions.

The gfs & euro per Bernie are agreeing. Irma is starting to turn. Eastern Florida may be getting wiped out.

Spoke with a former Florida resident this morning.

He will gladly deal with the snow and sub-zero temps vs. hurricanes!

Guy who retired from my company less than 2 months ago - he and his wife moved down there (she was organizing the unpacking as he was putting in his last days here). Guess they are going to board up the windows and hunker down. Other employees here have family down there and are trying to convince them to move north for a couple of days. One gal's daughter has taken in 36 horses already (guess she is on higher ground - further inland/north) and she is just praying the hurricane winds slow down by the time they get there.

I wish that the site would let me capture the image of the track but it won't, you're correct it has shifted east.

My dad moved down to New Smyrna Beach at the end of last winter. Spent 6 weeks back here may-july to avoid some of the heat, then suffered through the heat and humidity. Now with the hurricanes, I think he's done. Gonna enjoy the winter, then move back up here once his house sells in the spring.

Winter isn't as bad as those summers!

The latest forecasts regarding the storm shows that the winds will be diminishing by the time it hits Florida...

    But, still a hurricane.

I didn't mean it to be political, more about the moronacy of some people. I'm the last person that you will usually catch talking politics. (Like my new word?)

I have relatives in Florida and North Carolina, one of my uncles lives near the path of the storm or on the dirty side, he'll ride it out if past history means anything.

Hopefully they will be safe. This is a monster storm though, strongest Atlantic storm ever.

News aint covering it, but there's a cat 1 storm in the gulf (katia), that will likely turn to a cat 2 hitting Louisiana, Georgia, and Florida in a few days. And let's not forget Jõse a cat 3 right behind Irma. Starting to think the movie Day after tomorrow is coming true! o_O Stay safe everyone.

I thought they mentioned it the other day but said it wouldn't impact the USA. However, I'm old and easily confused so might be misremembering. I do know that they have been mentioning for the last couple of days that there are 3 active hurricanes.
