Poured out 2.75 inches this am....sure that's but so accurate cause it was raining sideways a lot and no way it made it in the gauge. Heavy dusting of snow on everything, thank goodness temps didn't drop any earlier. Lost power for about 30-45 minutes, neighbors on the other phase of our line lost it first and were out for about 3 hours.
Nothing here to speak of, ALL the doom and gloom hype as usual. maybe an inch of rain and my weather station said 37mph gusts, thats it.... Lotta hot air...
Looks like about 6 inches of rain here , finally stopped. Sump pump working OT in the basement as it should , no water issues.
Boston news stations reporting my town as getting 3.90 inches of rain overnight. Lots of standing water around.
Rain yesterday, snow overnight, still snowing. It's wet and heavy no wind issue. Some trees and branches falling down from the weight.
We had rain yesterday, about 1.25 or so. Cool and breezy today. Need to check on our TN members... From The Weather Channel Android App: Drone Footage Shows Scale Of Tennessee Tornado Destruction - Videos from The Weather Channel
We had a fairly steady wind overnight. Calmed down by daybreak. According the the nearby weather station 47-50 mph. Still getting some gusts, maybe 20 mph or so. Dunno how much rain as I didn't empty or check my rain gauge. I have one red oak tree that tends to hold its leaves and it is nude today.
I had brought my ran gauge in for winter, but set it out for this storm since it was to be all rain. Got right at 2" of rain. With the ground still hard under the first 1/2", a lot of run off and had a stream going thru the backyard. Sump has had to work a little as some water made it into the garage. The rest of the snow is gone. Yesterday was the anniversary of the ice storms of 2008 where 440,000 people in NH lost power - many for up to 2 weeks. For some states 440,000 people isn't much, but for NH that was a bit over 1/3 of the population. Glad there wasn't a repeat of that scenario!
I had to look it up, it was Jan "98 when we had the big ice storm that put us in the dark. Some had no power for 3 weeks. Jan. was a hard time not to have power. We heated with a K one heater. Oh the stink of K one. I was so glad when I finally got to have a shower. I paid to have a stand by generator installed. The guy took the $5.500 deposit, then that was the last I saw of him.
