1.12” of rain in Southern VT this morning. Town regraded the road this afternoon. Hoping that helps with drainage going forward. No issues from the rain today thankfully.
After having a nice cool 47 degree temp overnight we will be back in the upper 90s for the weekend here in Wisconsin. Ugh...
they slid the temp projections down the road a bit, so Sat won't be too bad but Sun- Tue will be nasty around my parts.
We didn't get anything from it, the rain gauge was dry this morning. The winds picked up some but that's about it. This afternoon we received 6 mm of rain.
We got a bunch of "little" storms last night. Lots of lighting and in some places dumped inches of rain in short amount of time. Those places had flash flood warnings. Trees down across one of the main roads from south central NH to western NH took down power lines and shut the road down. Radar indicated possible rotation, but it didn't last long and I don't think anything actually came down out of it. Lightning struck a tree and it fell on a car, trapping a guy inside in Newmarket. I only got about 1/2" of rain though, along with a lot of thunder and lightning. Could have done with a bit more precipitation, but that's how it goes.
We got lucky in VT. A little over a quarter inch of rain yesterday evening/night. Storms broke up over us and went to our south. Lots of lightening and thunder, but not a lot of rain.
Heavy rains moved in about 20 minutes ago with some thunder in the distance. The worst (red) has finally moved through.
When I looked at the rain gauge this morning, we received 27mm or 1.062992126 of rain, most of that was from the heavy downpours from last night.
I just saw on www.mynbc5.com that covers the Plattsburgh N.Y. area and Vermont that they are worried about possible flooding come midweek, they should have the areas that might be affected either tonight on the news or tomorrow.
The skeeters are back out up here, not like they were in the summer but just enough to bother you when you're out walking the dog.
