Well, those and alcohol which they were changing back in the early 80's when I worked for a liquor warehouse. Surprisingly the chart below doesn't have the 500 ml, although that is less common than the 350. And weirdly, Gallons stayed gallons, using a whole number of 128 of ounces. Probably why gallon it isn't on the chart since there is no conversion - or posibly because 3,750 ml doesn't roll of the tongue quite like 200, 350, 750 and liter.
We're do for one, maybe it's time I stop hoarding the beech & ironwood and keep the place warmer this winter.
How bad of a winter will it be, I saw buZZsaw BRAD at our wood dump on Saturday scrounging a load of White Pine!
Thank goodness it started raining… it had been 74 hours… the moss was almost starting to dry! 3/4 of an inch expected
Terrible yesterday with high dewpoints but temp was not all that bad. Looks like we're heading to much cooler weather, thankfully. Storms built fast last evening and some areas had severe weather. One tornado down by Lansing.
Received 1.5" yesterday morning. But no severe weather and I won't have to water my gardens as I have been doing for the last couple of weeks since most of the rains in my area have been 1/8" (even when other areas, not too far away have gotten 5" or so). You can tell the non-gardeners when they drive by as I'm watering the roadside garden. They are staring at me like I'm crazy since "it just rained". Yeah, but that 1/8-1/4" don't do nothing but make the top 1mm look like the garden is with moisture content when it hasn't even gotten thru the mulch.
Wife and I were in Crystal River in mid-June. Looks to possibly be in the 8-to-10-foot surge area. Our rental for that week will almost certainly be swamped. Had several locals tell me..... "We just don't ever get bad hurricanes here!" Betcha they are burning rubber for high ground! Challenging part of coastal living.
More heavy rains hit us (it finally stopped) more coming in from the west with the sky darkening up again.
