I appreciate the WWS! Looks like we’ll have to keep an eye on things for later this week! Meanwhile, in the flatlands, things are brewing for this afternoon.
Our ground is saturated so any more we get is runoff.. I think I will hope for drought while mowing my lawn!!
It looks like Thursday will be a wet one for our area. Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Cloudy, with a high near 78. South wind 7 to 9 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.
Definitely keeping an eye on things. The town dumped some gravel and graded the road in front of our place earlier this week. We had one rain storm and it seemed to hold up OK. Guess it will get tested again tomorrow!
It seems like you have a good town crew, we're a pretty small town but our town road crew does a great job. NOAA is still calling for 1 - 2 inches of rain for tomorrow with maybe half an inch tonight, after the last storm with lightning hitting close by, we'll be keeping a watch on the weather forecast. The lightning kicked out two GFCI's in the garage, yesterday (a day after the storm) I saw a neighbor up front getting something replaced in their well, I'm not sure if it was lightning related but it was close enough it might've been.
I just got on the computer. Good timing. lol Looks like one misses us but the other might get us in a few more hours. Yooper might get some there also.
My phone started going off on alerts last night. high wind, thunder storm and flash flood warnings all between 11:30 pm and 12:15 am.
A friend of ours, north of ATL, siad they had 90-95 mph winds last Thursday evening... A few pictures from his neighborhood... Here's one The Wood Wolverine would like to tackle...
Think I'm going to need a longer bar!! I'd get after it though. Quite a few cords there. That's crazy wind speeds. What a mess!
We don’t seem to have gotten much. I know the winds they warned of 80+mph never happened. thankfully. some places are reporting 3-4” of rain locally overnight.
That's great you didn't get the wind but that much rain can cause problems. We'll see what we get from that same system, earlier they said we could get a half inch tonight with another 1 - 2 tomorrow. We'll see what that forecast is like tonight.
Storms moved thru early this morning before changing over to just a nice gentle rain. We got 1.6 inches. It must have blown a little last night cause the tree I got hung up yesterday is now on the ground. It is always good when Ma Nature helps out with dropping trees and doesn't hit anything important. Upper 80's to low 90;s today with upper 90's tomorrow. Humid too. YUK
