I would try this if I lived a few miles closer to a campground. I already cut wood specifically for camp fires (pine, cedar, etc.) so why not make money? I would do the honor system because I wouldn't want to babysit pine splits all day.

We will probably be the last generation to have known or used the honor system. The way things are going, and not for the better, It may not be practical. I heard of places where if it's not nailed down, someone will steal it. :(

When I lived at the other place we had a couple of campgrounds within a couple of miles. The neighbor boy, now a 30 something man bought his first pickup selling firewood to the campers. My son was his "kindling subcontractor" from scraps I picked up from jobsites and he would split up and Ryan would give him $10 for about 4 boxes of kindling which Ryan would package with the splits and he got $5 all on the honor system. So, it had a handful of kindling and splits for a nice campfire. Like I said Ryan bought his first Ford Ranger pickup from the 5 month camping season. He did for 5 or 6 years. I think his dad still does it.

and the more losses they incur the higher the prices you pay for what you want - WW been closing stores but if you dig deeper you will see it is about losses not inadequate performance as stated in the information handed to the media. Not the first company to take that approach.

    Understandable.
And if my firewood disappears faster than the honor box fills, the firewood rack closes too!
I think if I sell again this coming summer, I will raise the price to 3 or 3.50. Yeah, I know.....price gouger!
