Thank you... I definitely recommend this stove for the appropriate sized house. It is a quality stove at a decent price.

The Keystone has a hole in the ash pan housing; Sometimes I can see a little glow back there later in the burn.

    The picture makes it clear...

It appears that those holes are the equivalent of a 4th secondary tube. Mine has 4 tubes with the last one against the top back wall of the firebox. Yours appears to have 3 plus the holes in the back. The 3 tubes and the top back of your firebox look like they to connect to the air chase along the top right of the firebox.

Do you also have some form of air supply near the bottom of the firebox?

As far as I know there are no air holes in the bottom ,on the inside.
First pic is the under side of stove , showing the air control about half way closed

They don't all have them on the rear wall of the firebox. Some Quads over the years have had them, some don't and pretty much every Travis Industries wood stove I have worked with have had them, though I can't recall on their wood fireplaces as it's been a LONG time.

Lopi and Avalon make FANTASTIC products.
