    Was that the black locust in south Seattle? I almost made the trip from Edmonds, desperate. Where was the fruit wood and oak?

    The black locust was maybe four weeks ago in Madison Valley…maybe 5 min from my house. Oak was three weeks ago in Greenlake through a tree service…a few scroungers showed up but most had shortbed trucks.

    For some weird reason I get fruitwood all the time…mostly plum and cherry. The recent fruitwood was last week from a Tacoma-based tree service guy named Stan in NW Seattle, but I took the little plum they had and left the rest (he was misleading in his multiple posts).

    I get cherry quite a bit. I was lucky enough to get a couple loads of apple this year from the green lake area before Christmas. Got some Asian plum a couple years ago. That stuff burnt hot. That yew last year was the rarest wood I've ever come across. Curious to ask the people I sold it to how it burnt.

    Ive seen this thread a few times now but tonight it just reminded me of a time a few years ago..

    Local property with a bunch of town houses took out a crap load of black locust trees, and i mean a crap load.
    All the wood was being stacked up curb side, first come first serve.
    I had hauled atleast 8 to 10 truck and 16' trailer loads of logs and rounds, heaping truck and trailer loads.
    I was so sick of locust after all that, the wood was green and sooo heavy..
    Any who.. I went there one day to get some wood and some wild azz lady was literally protecting all of the piles..
    Saving them for when her husband came. Every pile i would drive to, she would drive to also and literally stand between
    me and either my trailer or my truck while i had wood in my hands. Im not going to mention the things i wanted
    to do to this individual..
    I ended up calling the cops and they wouldnt even bother with coming out, didnt care much.
    I left.. wanted nothing to do with the drama after about the third time being blocked.
    it was wild as hell...

    Been driving by a pile of logs in a yard for several months. On my score radar. Yesterday car in driveway with door open. I stopped and asked and he said go for it. We exchanged numbers as no time for me.
    Thread to come soon.

    one thing i love about BL is the "shelf life"...even in the wild. It lasts for years once dead/down. Other than losing the bark and the thin layer of compost under it ill take all i can get.

    August 2020 tropical storm Isaias and a small tornado later that month put a lot of BL on the ground around here. Im still finding areas of it little by little. Grows in smaller groves. I wont have much in the way of bark on wood, but a boat load of barkless stuff. Locust mania baby...im lovin it!

    We need to have a thread here with all the acronyms that are used on this site.
    BRAD certainly has two of those if not more.

    CAD = chainsaw acquisition disorder
    BLM= black locust mania

    he is a very sick man.

    Selling my extra 261. (50cc) I have a good lead on a 362c (59cc) thats practically new i can get for $625
    ($900 OTD new) Already have the 361 (earlierversion of 362) and not really looking to upgrade other than it'd be Mtronic. If a 241 or 200t deal come along id more than likely grab it.
