Scotty, are you still doing the top-covered wood cube method?

I'll be starting my next "cube" in a week or so, just as soon as I get some pallets. I've got around 12-14 cord of wood that's split and ready to stack....mostly all oak!

I figure 5.25 cords stacked so far. I cut up the logs at the end of the road, split them there and toss them in a lawn tractor trailer as I split. Then when the trailer gets full, I drive out back and stack it. It's seems slow, but there's more/different movements strung together.

Didja ever notice that you never see Chuck Norris and Scotty in the same room at the same time? Coincidence?

2nd wood cube completed. 7+ cords. Will take pics and measurements tomorrow. After top covering. :)
Didn't finish in an even row-only half. Have to think about how to cover.

    Wood Cube 2013 (right)= 7.7 cords
    Wood Cube 2014 (left)= 8.9 cords
Both triaxle loads came from same guy. Don't know why the difference. The logs in this load were smaller diameter.

You ever consider stacking the center rows a bit higher so you can get a bit of a slope with your top covering? I do that with mine by mounding up the uglies and shorts on top. It seems to help prevent the water from puddling on top.
