Just a heads up so you know so you can inform a family member or a elderly person, the hackers saying they are from Microsoft are at it again. My bro in laws dad received a phone call stating that he was using Microsoft windows illegally and they needed to access his computer. He hung up on them and called me. I called them back, and gave them hell, and he said we have your windows id number, so I asked him for it, he got all tripped up and said your a hacker, and I will file a lawsuit against you, and lock out your computer. I told him it is disconnected so if he wants to come to my house he can try and take the computer, but I would not advise it. They are stating there from a company called Global Network solutions out of Ohio. There is a global network solutions but not in Ohio there in Virgina. I called Microsoft and they took down the information. The hackers number is 567-244-0677 if you see this number come up. He is a foreign guy who speaks broken English, and says his name is Albert. I had a blast messing with him, he was getting so mad.
They called here last year. I said, "Really?!? I'm using Linux. I don't even use Microsoft." They stammered a couple seconds then hung up. (I do use Microsoft, but these scammers are dumb as rocks.)
Such a shame there are so many bad guys out there.... Just wondering though, how were you able to get the hacker's phone number.
It actually came up on my brother in laws fathers caller ID. I know it is confusing because normally they block the number. That number originated out of Ohio. Microsoft assured me they do not ever call consumers. I was thinking at first this could of been a legit call, but the Microsoft license number he provided was no where even close, he had no idea what operating system he was using, and he literally started yelling at me when I called him out!
Well, at least you had some fun for a while. I can't help but recall the time some joker called and I had some free time to waste. So I led him on and on and on. He was trying to sell some vitamins and really had a long canned talk. Of course I was overwhelmed with, "Oh ya? That sounds good." Or, "Yes, I agree with that." One of my sons was home at the time and it was all we could do to keep quiet we were laughing so hard. Naturally at the end I simply said, "Okay. No thanks." Wish I could have seen their reaction.
I agree I do not even get annoyed anymore, I just get some laughs out of it, mess with them for a bit, and then hang up!
After we got the call from these scammers last year, another friend got the same call the next week. She called us to ask whether it was legit and I told her not to tell them anything. Her children and mine are close friends, and for several months my youngest son would call and say he was from Microsoft and talk in an Indian accent when he wanted to talk to their son. Then this past fall she got another call from someone with an Indian accent saying they were from Microsoft and she thought it was my son. She started laughing and carried on a long conversation with this Indian accent speaker as if it were my son and she was just playing games with him. The guy got really flustered and frustrated and insisted he really was from Microsoft and was following up on a tech problem her husband had talked to him about. She thought this was really great, that my son was doing a bit of improv. Finally the guy hung up. Several hours later her husband answered another phone call and it was the same guy. He WAS from Microsoft tech support, her husband HAD called with a tech support question the previous week, and he was following up to make sure it was properly resolved, and he couldn't comprehend his prior conversation with his wife. Her husband had to explain the whole background story and how his wife just thought it was a prank call. By the time they were done the Indian tech support guy was laughing so much he was in tears and telling his co workers about it.
I got a call years ago when I bought my house from a vinyl siding salesperson who wouldn't take no for an answer. I finally told them they could come out on Saturday and give am an estimate. Guy was really confused when he pulled in my driveway and saw my house is brick. I told him that he wasted my time, now I'm wasting his. Never heard from that company again. I disconnected my landline 3 years ago. No more telemarketer fun for me.
axx-hxxxx are starting to show up on the cell phones now, calls, voice messages and text and little to no way to block the numbers, what really ticks me off is it cost me minutes/money just to delete this junk.
I don't answer the phone unless I know who it is. Anyone else can leave a msg and I'll call back if needed. Don't leave a msg? Guess it wasn't important!
Just got a call this afternoon. I was just hangin out playing with the dogs so I played along for about 5 minutes, then asked him to hold for a minute cause I had to go let the dog in. I got back to him 15 minutes later, he was still there, then I asked him how this "windows" issue affected me cause I only run Apple products, he stammered for a bit, then I asked him how he liked being scammed...he hung up
