Saw will not cut straight.

    Short cutters on one side won't make it cut crooked. The chain won't perform like one with even cutters IMO.

    We, at least I, am not saying it won't cut straight. What I'm saying one side is doing more work, if you will, than the other. Think of it as a bent lawn mower blade. The lower one will take off the majority of the material to be cut. What I'm saying is in a way you make a standard full house chain into a semi skip or full skip chain. That is why I say I see more fines even though the height gauges/rakers are set correctly and the teeth are sharp when the tooth cutting edges vary.

    I have a snowboard/ski file that I use to touch up my bar now and then; usually every time I flip the bar.
