Only thing it needed was a good cleaning, meteor piston kit, bottomend bearings and seals. Painted it with Husky orange Valspar Tractor and Implement Paint. Very good paint!

A saw like that needs it's own thread. :D

Are you going to start one after the rebuild? I'd like to see the pics and process. :) That is going to be a true beauty right there!!

How confident are you with the accuracy of the .019 measurement? If you're sure, then it'll be fine.

Seeing the 262 reminded me. Had a 362xp split and built with new crank like that before. Just because they weren't made anymore and I wanted one in SMALL mount to test out. Not the later ones they released with large mount like 372.

Dont remember the paint used back then. Might have been the same as your 262 paint.

I never understood the small mount on the larger chassis... I sold a couple just because of the small mount. not easy to find 22-24" bars in small mount

IDK, not a bad idea to check into if I run across another. truth is though, most of the older 362xps were rare. Not many people would spend the extra XP dollars on a 362xp when the 365special was 100-150 bucks cheaper and ran better.

I had 9mm studs that I held up there and pondered the idea. Dont see why it isnt doable . Woulda been the time with the crankcase apart but oh well

Why dont they make an adapter for large to 8.2mm instead of just large to 9mm?.

not understanding your question. the 365/371/372 is 9mm. the 362 is the only saw the adapter from small to 9mm slot would work for.

because oil hole locations on the small K05 mount bars are not in the same location as the D007 or whatever the large husky mount is. And the 372 series of saw is the only one that uses that adapter that cannon sells, the stud spacing is different on everything else that the 9mm slot fits, the 7900's, 268 series, etc.

Oh ok sorry. What I meant is why dont they make a stihl to husky adapter for 12mm to 8.2mm instead of just 9mm?

24" K095 is easy to find IMO. I traded a 24" away because I like 20" better on 62-65cc saw.

small K095 and large D009 to correct above info

online they are easy to find. I've been in 15-20 shops this year and never seen one hanging on the wall, or out back in the shop. Its' not a common bar above 20". hence why husky brought it back with the larger pattern.

Dont think that was the reason. But believe what you like for going to large later. Cost cutting to 1 platform IMO.
