I got that black 3 piece tool box from HF a fee years ago. Was tired of my tools all over the place and in several small tool boxes and in my actual truck tool box. Think it was $145 with a coupon. Not as HD as the red ones but still a good deal I think.
Mike is a secret lover of all Mtronic saws and Solo's. Don't let him fool you. He pretends to be a hater, but deep down? He can't resist!
I'm not a fan of most hazard fraught tools, but those tool boxes are very nice. They are the best product in the store. That's nice wall o' toolbox you got there.
When I first seen this thread a while back I thought of my tool box I carry in the truck for woods maintenance on my chainsaws. It is smaller and only has the essentials. It is supplemented by a separate 1/4" & 3/8" English/Metric socket set as well as a first aide kit, gloves & chaps.
I use a LARGE set of the 90 degree ones with one of the tips ground to a fine point for pulling seals, works great! Posted some photos "simulating" using it back on that old "038 Mag rebuild thread".
I liked that Milwaukee impact and I had been looking at 12v impact all of last week. I went to Home Depot yesterday and was looking around. They had a deal on that impact with a drill, charger, tool bag, regular battery and extended capacity battery for $129. I had to get one for that price.
I have a Bosch 12v lithium drill / impact kit that I picked up a couple of months ago on Amazon for $116 delivered, including a bonus hard case full of plastic containers and dividers for fasteners. It's amazing how much the prices fluctuate on these things if you watch for sales.
Yes, the smaller one is next to the big one in the photo. You can see the "bent" up shape of the inner edge. I've done several saws this way and have never damaged any saw surfaces. You just have to be really careful with the tip near the shaft, and put something between the jaw and the saw to protect. The soft wood of a piece of popsicle stick works great. Drive the tip into the "rubber" under the edge of the metal and pry!
Nice idea. I actually have a Stihl seal puller that I got secondhand, but it's missing the jaws for the smaller seals and Stihl wants more than $40 each for them. I've been using the old awl and screw method, but modified pliers are probably faster.
Congrats. I paid $99 last year on Black Friday for the same kit and it came with an 3rd battery. My go to tool to work on a saw.
