Kinda separate species as I usually cut entire trees down so all one species is in a rank by itself or in same part of bigger stack. Burn whatever species I come to in the stack, save bigger splits for overnighters. But 90% of what I have/burn is oak, rest is ash, hickory a little black birch.

I usually try and stack same species in one cord. If its gonna be a short cord, than top off with similar btu wood. Odds and ends, then all together. BL always by itself as are oaks. If it's an odd ball or rare species for me, than I keep it separate to see how it burns. When I stage for winter, I bring in an assortment of species and pick through depending on temps.
Though this year has been more oak than anything.
BL is by far my favorite and most valuable.

Once I get some wood storage built, it will be separate, but right now it's all together.
