I find myself taking the husky 372 and stihl ms650 most often. Sometimes the third I take is an earthquake or stihl 011.

Usually the 650 has a 20" bar but if I plan to get into bigger stuff a 25 or 32 as size dictates.
    The husky wears a 20"

    550xp and 044 currently. 550 wears 16/18 044 wears 20/28. Really wanting a 462cm if it comes or the 572xp if it performs like a 562

Like that 6100 I've been thinking about buying one what are your thoughts? Either that or the 6400 were my two choices

I looked at both the 6100 and 6400 real close. I am a tinkering fool so my thought process was. With the 6400 I would automatically yank the cat out of the muffler saving over 7 oz and runs cooler. Then I would always have in the back of my head that I could have a 7900 at the same weight if I just buy the p/c . There is also the xd filter kit, I should get it and....

The 6100 doesn't improve much if any with a Mm and any improvement tinkering is above my head and not needed. (The 6400 runs great without any above mods)
The 6100 pulls a 24" bar noodling through oak and hickory with authority. Is very smooth in the cut , has a great torque curve, fast throttle response, amazing air filtration, and it starts so easy my seven year old daughter can start it. I also really like the stock exhaust tone.
Oh and talk about fuel milage, the 6100 sips fuel and has a huge tank = a run time much longer than a fat man.
I am sure you can tell I am very happy with the 6100 and I don't want to take away from the 6400 it is a really good saw. Just in my mind if I got the 6400 I might as well get the 7900 because I know I would end up there anyways. Hope this helps lol

Thanks for the heads up I was leaning to the 6100 for the same reason figured I would start messing with the 6400 and end up putting more in it than I could have just bought the bigger saw for
