Sales still above last year

Firewood sales have slowed down the last few days, but inventory buildup is going full throttle. About 135 face cords of white oak and hickory in the woodyard as of today. Over 40K of inventory. Think I need 100 cords to cover this year's demand. Spent half of the day top covering most of my firewood with roofing underlayment.

 

You must be buying a heap of wood to have that much built back up. Will take a while for it to dry.

 

Think it would have been smart to put the metal pad down before moving stove into place. Save having to move it a 2nd time.

 

I think a heart pad goes on the electrodes when a EKG is done. Is the stove sick already...

 

Ah a hearth pad should get you into code compliance. As far as clearance to combustibles under the stove goes. I do remember you saying that you have sold 8 houses thanks for the reminder tho.

 

You got a company that works largely on tips to tip you as well? Between that and building up your inventory so quickly you are Chuck Norris in the firewood industry! Great job .

 

No, most of what I am purchasing is 9-12 months old. After a month of re-splitting and stacking, it is reading in the 13-15 moisture range. I am about nine months ahead of selling. So bone dry stuff is what leaves my woodyard. About 150 face cords of hickory and white oak stacked in the woodyard.

 

Let me be clear, I am banking major bucks from my one dude operation. Some might think I am over the top in my postings, but just letting the firewood community know what can be accomplished when you go full throttle.

 

Yep, the fabricator said the pad should be powder coated and ready in a few days. So hoping to punch through the roof and place the stove in its resting place on Wednesday. Have some special 3 year old oak I will burn on the initial burn.

 

You may want to have small burns at first. A new stove really stinks with the first couple of fires.

I am a firewood dork, so have read my Lopi stove manual twice about how to break it in to cure the paint and door gasket. Serious burners have a three year inventory from what I read. I am on the 15 year plan.

 

95% of my inventory is hickory and white oak, what Nashvillians prefer to burn.

 

Sold 257 ricks last year and have doubled my sales so far this year. I have a massive inventory, but not enough.

 

I wouldn't call your postings over the top. They are inspiring and educational.

What's your secret to going full throttle?

 

Nsshvillians have impeccable taste in what they choose to burn in their stoves. They truly set the standard for wood burners.

 

Being fit and motivated to succeed in whatever I do. I spent 26 years as a Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal Diver, but always wanted to have my own business eventually in retirement. I love producing and selling high quality firewood.

 

What kind of training is required to perform those duties? You are obviously in incredible shape.
