1st pic is chiquapin oak from March of 17 with cherry, spruce, and pignut mixed in. the rest is ponderosa pine and Ash from Sept of 17. I've split a bunch of Ash from June/July from my "neighbor" if any of you recall. I usually split by hand but 90% of this stuff needs hydraulic because it was yard grown. And my splitter is slow!!! Compared to doing it by hand with woods grown wood.
I know. I've been plugging away on days off. But stuff keeps popping up. I'm on 5 days off now but I just blew brake lines on my main truck and a coil spring mount on the other lol
Man you're sounding like me. I'm only halfway ready for winter! Between house projects, cars breaking and 3 year old's (oh yeah and work), I haven't been able to get to my splitting. Luckily I do have a little buffer time because of where I live. I do still have to buck and quarter a 36" (at the base) Ponderosa we took down last year though. Next year come hell or high water I will have my stove splits ready by the end of April. Ok maybe May...
Lol. I'm good for now this year. I've got a 7,5, and 2 year old. I do tree work on the side so wood I'd catching up to me
Yeah kids are great (before they're teenagers anyways ). I'm teaching my 3 year old a great game called Mop the Floor. She loves it!
In a few years she’ll be old enough for the excitement of “Emptying ashes out of the stove!” & “Wood stackin’ time!”.... Soooo much more funner than “ Candyland.”
