It does look interesting... it doesn't look like the best made unit, but at this price you get what you pay for... I'd see it used for home use, but not commercial. I'd LOVE to have a lift someday! Post the pics please, or it didn't happen! 1st or second post for you makes me VERY suspect. Competitor? ahhhh common! ALL the parts for ALL the machines are "Made in [insert Asian country here]". Most are even assembled in [insert Asia here]. Sure, a few companies screw a few bolts together here in the US, they may even weld a beam together, but don't let anyone fool ya, even the ones that say "Made in USA" are really "Made in [insert Asia here]"!
"I'd LOVE to have a lift someday!" ... you already do... ... just gotta setup your splitter under it...
LOL! I guess your right, but it would be difficult to get biguns parked where the hoist is, my truck can't get around the corner of the house to the back of the house, it's to tight. I betcha you could figure out a slick way to get em around there... roll em off the tailgate into a small trailer behind your tractor maybe?
Sure, I could do that but then it would be easier to just flip up the H/V splitter and qtr it, which is what I do now instead.
Here are the pics you wanted. At least for the extractor, don't have one on the cradle but I'll take one. As you can see, the extractor bent and caught the splitting wedge damaging it too.
Also, all the bolts are aluminum. So of course the ones under pressure bent and I had to replace all of them. Just shows you what kind of quality they have and won't stand behind their product.
Bet you serious money that they are not aluminum. They might be crummy, but they are not aluminum. Greg
If they aren't aluminum, then I stand corrected. But, I would be willing to bet that they are. Anyone thinking about purchasing one of these then let me know and I'll send you one of the bent bolts I replaced and you can tell me what you think.
Al-loo-mini-umm bolts is far more expensive than the ungraded crap that you see on some "imported" equipment. They are actually pretty rare unless specifically needed for the application as they are not only rare/expensive but are even worse than stainless steel hardware for thread galling making them a PITA as well. Put a magnet to them and see what happens. I'd be curious.
There you go, simple solution to answer the question right there I have found a lot of nuts and bolts that I dropped in the grass, and in the shop while working on equipment, with what? A big azz magnet
I work on large (house-sized) industrial machinery with tons of stainless steel fasteners. If you drop one, a magnet ain't gonna help you there. Works good for finding your average nut/bolt/washer in the jungle, err, lawn.
Seems like I'm always dropping nuts and bolts, I have five or six of these I keep, in various places, Magnetic pick up tool http://www.autozone.com/catalog/com...etcs/product-info/en/US/ttn/11063-BULK/image/ + articulating, flexible, and wide bar like roofers use. If I know its non-metallic, I know I'm probably screwed Sometimes get lucky and spy it though
