I do the same thing even with my stacks tight to each other. Mine are usually 3 deep on a pallet. I will do that every 2 or 3 feet about halfway up the center stack. I keep knocking my stacks over like an idiot this year though. I hit one with the mower and the other with my cut box trying to move it while climbing over a pile of rounds. It works because the lower half didn't fall only the top half.
Ahhh yup, you do... we all know it... even Scotty Overkill knows it. We drove by a guy's stacks last week and he said he thought those were almost as straight\vertical as Papadave's... :stacke:... you da man... ... (I still think you use a laser level... )
You guys will get a kick out of this one. A couple months ago I was looking at one of the deer blinds I built out of firewood. This one: As I was passing it one day I happened to notice it had started leaning outward. Ah. Single row, easy fix. I was on the tractor so I just drove up along side of it and bumped it with the side of the bucket in 3 or 4 places. Problem fixed! I remember laughing about it at the time wondering if I should have taken a video for you guys. I suppose this could work on other stacks if needed but hopefully it won't be needed.
yep - a little tap-tap with a hammer, or just another split, to realign things, is what I do, as needed.
