Hey you got a Schindy saw like me. What model do you have? I think I have a 14" inch bar on my 360. Nice light saw. Don't see too many of them around since they quit selling them 5 or 10 years ago.

Parents had an open fireplace when I was growing up. I was usually the one always wanting to have a fire during the winter - all makes sense now!

This is year 3 with our Pacific Energy insert - 2nd winter burning it 24/7 during the coldest months.

Nan and gramp heated almost totally with wood when I was little in the fiftys...Loved it...Dad built field stone fireplace in 50's at our house that was used thanksgiving til about new years or so and I was totally into it....Got a franklin in the 70's for our rented place and as bad as that stove was I still loved running it;;;;Even slept by it to keep it going when it was 20 below or more to keep family warm in non insulated rental....fast forward to 2011 and installed Jotul #3....And still love burning wood....:)

Since 1981. My first stove I built out of an electric hot water heater tank. :)

I like the fact you built your own, I wonder how many members have done that.
We talk about trying different stoves but it would be more fun (for me) building different types of stoves.
Except for the bird shiit welds I would put on it.:D

I'll get a picture of the waste oil stove I built. Works good in the garage, just couldn't convince the wife to let me put one in the house.

Only thing is Bill, I've never seen an electric hot water heater. Besides, why would anyone want to heat hot water? We always heat our cold water.:whistle:

Parents had a Fireplace. But used it sparingly.

I'm going on 6-7 years. First 3-4 with just Wood pellets. Last 3 with wood also.. I'm a duel fuel burner. I don't discriminate.

4-5 years, and loving every bit of it! I may not solely rely on wood heat for the rest of my life, but atleast hope to have a wood stove and always have the option!
