Roadside find- locust?

    Well, after getting it home and cut up I couldn’t resist splitting it. It appears that this is actually Hedge/ Osage Orange. Excited to see how this stuff burns in a couple years I’ve never even seen it around here until now. Going to have to look a little closer now.

    Also included a nice pile of red oak in the background that the county also provided!

    I wood agree Osage Orange.
    I just cut down a Black locus and just went out and took a look at the rounds. My Black Locus much more sapwood.

    You probably have seen it and didn't realize what it was. Have you ever seen these?

    Ahhh, the yellow devil. I burned the last of my Black Locust stash last month. It was 3 yrs CSS and man did it burn nice. I missed some on the side of the road but have another one staked out thats been on the forest floor for 2 years...
