crazy thought though, if it is three to a case I wonder if it would be better for 9 vs 10.

It was 15 a gallon, for 10 gallons for me. Price to pay for living in the sticks I guess. :)

So, I found this interesting. I did order some, because there's nowhere close to me to get any, other than the ATF that Napa is selling as bar oil, for $30/gallon. I ordered 10 gallons. Got my email confirmation. Then this AM I got another email saying they cancelled an item on the order......1 gallon. So, they must've taken the liberty to make it an even 3 cases, at 3 gallons a piece, and not add the oddball gallon.

No big deal on my end. I just found it interesting, since you mentioned to try 9 instead of 10. Be a heck of a coincidence if they really did only have 9, instead of trying to make shipping easier.

If you have any local dealers selling Kawasaki power equipment, they may have bar oil on hand in a Kawasaki bottle. Should be $10-12/gal. Maybe somewhere that sells zero turn mowers with Kawi engines? I bought two gallons from a Husk/Echo dealer that sells a full line of mowers, tillers, etc. Have not seen anywhere else yet, other than online.

I reached out to our local (northwest Kansas) COOP again, to see if there's a chance things have changed with them. But, we do have a Kawasaki dealership, for motorcycles and ATV's and what not, about an hour away. I'll have to give them a call and see if they have any and if they sell bulk. I don't have a problem traveling a ways, if I can buy in bulk.

Thanks for the idea. I never even thought of that route.

I asked the saw shop guys about the oil, being surprised to see it with that brand. They responded that they really liked Kawi's engine oil and decided to try a pallet of the bar oil that had recently come available. First gallon I got last fall for $8.something. They were $10.something last visit. I have no experience using yet. Gave one to a buddy for Christmas and have one about 7 or 8 gallons back in the stash. If you shake the jug, it sounds like thick oil inside. LOL

Glad it worked for you. I had to convince myself not to stop at Rural King or Menards today. I was close to both in my travels today. I really don't need more. We'll see how tomorrow goes

Is it NAPA brand or some other type ? The regular NAPA I had was pretty thick, their winter blend was thin.

The MFA blend that I have seems pretty thin but appears plenty tacky & stays on the bar/chain well.

Not bar oil but I picked this up at the local wally tonight on clearance. $30 for 2.5 gallons. Regular $50. They had three more left. The new to me Kubota is getting this for a season or two.

I couldn't tell ya, honestly. I had been buying it for years and never noticed a difference, until last year, no matter what time of year I bought it. Not sure they know the difference and probably just had it set up to auto order. That's how it was when I worked there. It was always tacky and seemed good, but last year it was red, thin and smelled exactly like ATF and had no tackiness. So, I'm not sure what was going on.

I'm trying to source a 55 gallon drum, if possible.

Your first question I didn't answer. It was Napa brand, in the 1 gallon white jug. I answered whether it was winter or summer blend, which I didn't know.

Well I was close again today but didn't have the time to stop at either place. Had some pretty heavily damaged vehicles to inspect today and 2 that ended up totalling. Kept me away from the bar oil.......

Can you tell me how this forum is going to live up to it's reputation as a bunch of enablers, if you don't quit resisting, and just go buy more bar oil?:D

I have jugs of both blends in the shed, I will try to get pics of them tomorrow. The SKU number is on the jugs.

Here is the NAPA oil that I have, Summer blend on the left & Winter on the right. The numbers are in the upper right hand corner of the sticker label.
