Sorry to hear that Jack. I have 3 cats here and had them when I was a kid too. Had a few dogs over the years too. Never easy burying any companion. RIP Dusty.
Sorry to hear about the loss of your friend Jack. Friends that have passed are never forgotten and their memories often find life in new friends.
One of my favorite cats just dropped dead a few years ago. He was only like 3years old or so. He was curious and into everything. That cat loved me and when I went outside ran from window to window watching me. He had gone out onto the cat porch we call it which is like a screened porch where just the litter boxes are for them he saw a feral cat and was growning at it as males do. I guess he had a hear attack cause we found him a half hot or so later dead on that porch. Not long after we adopted a brother and sister from the humane society. My cat tiger that had dies was an orange tabby. The 2 we got were black/white and a grey tabby (that blue grey that if it were a pit bull people would call it blue). Themale grey cat looks like tiger in the face and has the exact same peraonality as tiger and does the exact same things that no other cat does. His sister the black/white one also does a few things tiger did and the two of them both have characteristics of tiger. The wife says its tiger reincarnated. Both greyie and tiger love to tip your full drink cups over, love getting into the shower and water , love stealing cat food out of the food bins that they have to open the latches to get too, knocking things like my alarm and fan off the bedside table. Its almost scary how much like tiger our grey cat is!!
Very sorry for your loss Jack.....I still miss our Australian Shepard we put down a year and a half ago but our ornery new one helps. RIP Dusty
RIP Dusty. The downside to being human: we outlive our beloved pets. It's a form of a curse. But one that we freely choose. I choose to remember them. As I'm sure you will with yours.
Condolences Jack. We love 'em when they are with us and miss them terribly when they go. I have had my share. I have 2 buried in the yard and 2 more in boxes after cremation. I like to think that the 2 in the yard are watching over my 2 cats that are out in the woods all summer. As much as its hard to hear, you did the right thing for your buddy. Someone once said that you have to think-Are you keeping your friend alive for you or for them?
