thats the way I remember it, if I run all the lines the gas company comes in and does the pressure check, if good they hook it up. The last one I did the gas guy came in said looks good to me and turned it on.
I was like your kidding me right ? he said nope looks good.
    Glad I tested everything first.

When I was working, we were responsible for the gas test and the signed off on it.

And the idea of an operating transom window over the door is a good one!

That gas gauge just needs a nice wishing well placed over it.

It is nice when a project actually provides opportunities during the tear down (the transom) - well, I assume it does. Never actually had the pleasure of running into that type of nice surprise.

    Everything looks great!

Yep, doesn't cost that much extra and it looks horrible if you have a splice in like an 8' span of siding.

sided the lower front, run some soffit on porch ceiling, finish up the sides on the addition.

on the sides at the top I will sometimes add a frieze board depending on how the siding works out. If I wind up with a narrow piece i will add a frieze strip to make the siding work put to a "full" piece. By adding a 2 1/2" piece I was able to run a full piece of siding and have a clean look IMO.
