Then man up....ask and demand or go to another supplier. Simple.

I told them to take their tank and stuff it where the sun don’t shine. I can get what I need at a welding supply house I drive by daily for 2.79 per gallon. Simple. No whining involved.

Nah the greenery hides the big tank!

I’m glad you and Dumf were able to beat them down. Round here propane is in high demand. A pizz ant like me ain’t worth bothering with.

Warner I didn’t bear them down they came up drive and offered too me expanding this area. That 500 gallon tank been here 17 years. Been empty for 10. All old propane companies were 4.50 a gallon I use about 100 gallons a year 40 in outside gas grill..

No "beat down" Warn. It's negotiation like when we "negotiate" for love or marriage.:thumbs:
We use LP for hot water , well under 100 G/Y.
You want to be a "pizz ant" then live with the fallout. ( damm, I don't even know what the H that is )
In rural regions like where we are ( real rural ) there is no nat gas, so LP is the option WITH multiple suppliers, AND the option to do it yourself.
Consult over. ( Butt I do take a single malt at the N.H. State Liquor Store in Gorham ! ):faint:

Hey Dumf , I started this thread to talk about HPWH's...not argue about how to get the best deal from the LP company...if that's what you feel the need to discuss, start your own thread about it.

Jeez.. and I was hoping to gain advice on how to "negotiate" with the gas station the next time I fill the truck.

    Now I'll never know.

I guess I'll just go in and tell the person at the register that I just won't pay that price, I'm sure they'll see it my way.

So maybe a bit unrelated but...with the help of my FIL who is a liscenced electrician we just installed a generator switch for my house. I'm using a portable 6500w Generac, it makes plenty of power to run the HPHW in efficiency mode, however the electronics in the HPHW do not like the floating ground of the generator...we think, the HPHW throws a code after startup and will not run (in any mode). My FIL is going to look into it for me but thinks we can simply drive a ground rod near where the generator will be and connect the frame of the generator to it whenever I need to run the gen.

Not 100% sure that will fix it...but that's the first thing I'd try too...
