so now a question to those of you having done same. how long did you wait before firing up stove to let the cement dry ( Englander supplied silicon rubber stuff) their instructions say 24 hours , I know that is full cure under ambient conditions. If i were to fire it up after dinner it would be about 12 hrs. Oh and a note to anyone comtemplating doing this, A small wire brush in a power drill gets the old stuff out real quick and leaves a nice clean channel for reseal.
I follow the directions many of the cements and glues use water base now so if you don't wait it will potentially cause air pockets in the gaskets. Better safe than sorry.
Turned the ng unit on, very grudgingly. my own fault for procrastination. Nc30 will be doing it thing later today though.
Well it passed the dollar bill test, Fired back up last night. Oh and I made a new door pin for the top hinge, as that was very sloppy. Pin miked at .366 hinge needed .409 on the top half likely could have used .370-75 for the bottom.
