Nah, was waiting on the milk crate and cushion crowd...I'm not familiar with the machine either...have to Google as OP didn't photo...he said it goes both ways...
Yes I was expecting the milk crate crowd too but Backwoods Savage was here yesterday and must not have noticed. It is a pretty sweet machine. Only reason I rented it was because it was something different. I could borrow a typical splitter from several people but liked the idea of trying something new. Ashwatcher thanks for posting a picture. I should have looked up a generic picture to start off with but thought it was a better known splitter brand.
I just watched the company vid===very heavy duty machine and the 2 way splitting action is something I'd never seen...thanks for alerting those of us not familiar with the brand-looks like another heavy hitter!!! Nice work btw!
True. You guys were a bad influence on me. I bought a homebuilt that I estimate at about 16 tons. Before long I HAD to have something more powerful, and I missed the black Friday sales. Black Friday is NOT my thing. Nevertheless, I waited until BF 2015, and got my butt out of bed waaay before dawn and wandered into Muncie, finding myself 200 feet or so from the door. I thought there'd be no way I'd get one, but did end up with a 30 ton Forest King splitter for a mere 799.00 plus tax. The Chinese engine on the thing is CRAP, but the thing eats a truckload of rounds in unreal time once you get it going.
I find it a good thing that we can all blame it on each other when we get even more toys and equipment, they made me do it.
Honestly, I think anything over 20 is overkill for most of what most of us do. But hey, black Friday is coming again! Go get one! I do like being able to split horizontally or Sav style. Not having to lift monster rounds is a blessing in itself.
You were talking about big vines. I got by a big one just off my property this weekend. It's between 6"-8". Here's a 4 stem oak just up the ridge from that vine. Didn't have anything for reference. Base is more than 5 foot. And for good measure a yearly buck was in the front yard this morning. Not the best picture but he had to come and check out the destruction I caused yesterday. Now if only he'll stay away from my hostas (sp).
Jeffrey Svoboda don't count on the deer leaving the hostas alone. It is one of their preferred foods!
Here we go snapped a pic today, I guess they are just as big as previously posted, I stay the heck out of this area if it isn't winter because these Vines are PI. I really need to get out there in the winter and wack them off.
I'm glad mine aren't PI. Not sure what mine are. That one in the picture seams different than the ones up by the house. yes but the two yrs I've been here they don't eat them till sometime in August. By then they have served their propose.
