When I built my shop, I sealed the floor with clear driveway sealer the same stuff you use to seal a stamped concrete driveway. My wife has decided that she would like to have a new patio and expanded back yard hardscape. I pulled up all the 1 inch slate that was the patio with the intent of repurposing it as a floor in my shop. Well you and I all know mud will not stick to sealed concrete, so I have to figure out a way to get the sealer off the existing floor. Anybody got any ideas short of surface grinding the existing floor?
I have a friend who does epoxy floors. He uses a shot blaster for big areas and a cup grinder w/ diamond wheel for the small areas.
I was going the same direction as Chris, a cup grinder with a diamond wheel will scratch it up well enough to adhere a new surface to it.
Wash it down with muriatic acid ,scrub brush on a pole, rinse with water, and squeegee off ,wear rubber cloves and eye protection , and ventilate well while using it We used it a lot in ceramic tile , and swim pool building http://www.naturalhandyman.com/iip/infxtra/infmur.html
