I think Krooser and a couple other forum members are familiar with Earth Sense. Seems they weren't too concerned with the look of the firebox. Wouldn't get me to shell out 2000 clams looking like that. Englander Re-furbs look like new for a whole lot less $$.

Man, it would appear that way....how do you sell a "refurb" looking like that....for $2K no less!

For $2K you'd think they'd at least use a $5 can of spray paint and make the firebox look like someone actually made an attempt at 'refurbishing' the stove.

    Hi
I am having the old Gold Door and Gold grill ceramic coated in Bright Silver? Will that look newer than gold?

Painting the fire box and doing it correctly means taking all the parts out and spraying all sides. That is another day's work. :)

Wow Don, that firepot ash dump plate is REALLY pitted. Does that still seal when it's closed?

And he missed a bit of rust. I would have removed it and painted da whole thing. Its only one bolt. And they like to hang up once they are peppered with rusty ness!! Clean the bore and wire brush the bolt(if not replace it).........

Hey you got it all apart anyway, Why not do da deal right?? Just sayin! :p

The ash dump rod was working fine. :)
The edges are not pitted so it seals good.

Besides, I need some time to hang the new TV bracket in my new workshop. :)

Would seem that "Refurbished" is a subjective term.

A few minutes with a good wire "end brush" in an air die grinder or electric drill applied in that firebox would have done wonders to knock off that rust.

And if ya wanted it really top shelf ya strip the thing to the bare chassis and sand blast the inside and then paint it.

But what do we know eh ??????

    Hello
Yes I use a wire wheel on the DeWalt drill. When I get the shop walls finished, I am buying a media blaster cabinet for the small parts. I like black diamond for the media.
Anyway, I just got the fire pot back in with brand new Lytherm gasket using stainless steel bolts with SS wing nuts for easy removal to turn the fire pot when installing a new igniter. :)
Now just waiting for my new guy at Good Hues to put a Bright Silver ceramic coat on the door and grill. :)
This stove took 4 cans of paint to do it right!

What exactly on that stove has been "refurbished"?

In this case, the components were removed and the whole stove was repainted. The convection blower was taken out and fully cleaned. The control box was updated from the old gray control box to the new clear control box to fix the old CSS - cold start syndrome issue. The burn pot, fire door gaskets were replaced. A brand new exhaust blower with new gaskets were installed. The stove starts right up and works well. If the custome wants anything else such as a log set or fire brick that can be put in but would be extra.
I also sell spare parts if the customer wants any. :)

I painted the exhaust housing high heat flat aluminum and put 3 coats of clear gloss engine paint over the aluminum. :)
    How does it look?
