Red oak score!

    We have a lot of red oaks coming down in our area.
    Most of them seem to just break off

    More bad news... After my finger injury and a business trip to Seattle, I went back and checked on my "score." Unfortunately, both trees are Tulip Poplar and neither is in fact oak. I may saw some up into lumber for secondary cabinet wood. The rest will be processed into firewood that will easily be read for burning in this Fall. At least, this will give us time to let the real oak dry for 2-3 yrs. Now, I need to find about 2-3 cord of black birch to C/S/S for next winter.

    Actually it's better that the poplars are succumbing vs the oaks.

    There's a lot of wood in those trees.
