    Hello all:
Just wanted to see what you guys recommend for smokers brands etc.. or just build a smoke house ? If you don't mind maybe show what you use.

I use a pellet smoker. I can't recommend one enough. To be able to set it and forget it is what sold me. Want a little more smoke flavor and you can throw a 20 dollar smoke tube in there. Basically a mesh tube that holds pellets.

Especially if you have a Slow 'n Sear in it. Makes the Kettle an awesome smoker.

My Weber smoky mountain is as close to a set it and forget it kinda smoked there is without going pellet or with an automated controller.

They make them in 18 and 22 inches.
I gave away the big offset once I got this thing.

That's what I've heard from most everyone that has one. It's one of the all time greatest smokers and always high on the ratings lists.

I have a Weber kettle, masterbuilt electric, akorn, used to have a cheap charcoal box and also have a homemade UDS(ugly drum smoker). The UDS is by far my favorite. It cost me about 125 bucks to build and it cooks the best food. I use briquettes and chunks of wood, probably about 12 pounds of briquettes and 4 or 5 pounds of wood chunks. I've went 16 hours on a load like that and could have easily went 24. It's extremely fuel efficient and very good at maintaining temps. There's all sorts of plans and ideas floating around the net.

I have been using an electric smoker and I hate with a passion that thing is always broken, so I have been saving some money, but I don't know if I should get a vertical smoker like a Stump but man they are expensive. I very thankful for all you guys suggestions and advice thank you all.

I've got the Oklahoma Joes from Home Depot and a vertical smoker that is heated by propane and I just add wood chips for the smoke. I'm going to make a reverse smoker one day. I've got all the metal pretty much. Just need time to weld it up. There's a thread on here about a reverse smoker and some good reading on the barrel smokers.

Weber Smokey Mountain is a high quality unit. Night and day difference between it and the el cheapo drum smokers.

I share a brick smokehouse with my FIL. If you have the time and inclination to build one, it can't be beat.
