Good job, get that cant hook, one about 30-36'' is a good all around size. It makes handling rounds so much easier, especially if they have knots or other irregularities.

Nice work and keep it coming. With that new trailer, you’ll get to 3 yr in no time. I noticed you are getting a lot of the high btu, stuff which is great, but are you mixing in some lower btu but faster seasoning stuff like maple to get you through that first year or two?

Yeah, definitely get a peavey/cant hook cigarsmokingzombie as T.Jeff Veal stated. I dont know how i did without it. Dont use it a whole lot, but makes rolling huge (or any size rounds) a LOT easier.

The one pictured i got for Christmas last year. I think it was purchased from Tractor Supply for $65 or so. The only thing i dont like is the wood handle is a bit too "fat" and it doesnt have the spear point of a peavey which you can stab the ground thus not having to bend over to pick it up. Is it only good for rolling OR also for flipping up large pieces off their side? These giant pieces are a Bear if they roll and flop over. Hand grip is tough to get underneath and it’s really hard to get leverage to lift up in the trailer.

works both ways. Can be a little tricky to get the hang of using one. Im still a tad wet behind the ears with it, but GREAT leverage for sure.
They make a shorter handled one too. Ive seen T.Jeff Veal use his "shorty"to flip huge rounds on end to get under his splitter.

I've never used a Peavey, but with the spear point, it might work better.

Well for starters, that is the best way to load the trailer.... As for unloading... A beeeootch bar and/or some wedges may come in handy.

Hook a chain around each piece and to a tree, pull trailer out from under it. We unloaded loads of whole logs for 5 yrs that way, before we got dump trailer. IMG_20170615_092435794.jpg

I think this breaks the trailer in. This is my 6th load and definitely the heaviest. I think that’s gotta be about one cord worth from today.

That’s brilliant! Only problem is my trailer gate can only handle 500 Lbs of weight. I think these bad boys would break the gate.

I see lots of noodles in your future. Best I can offer, or buy a crane. How much can that cost? It'll pay for itself with the heat savings anyway.

I’m gonna go with the noodle method. I’m thinking Rigatoni will do.
