So I think my addiction is getting worse. Someone posted a score on FB marketplace 30 miles away for ash and hickory. So this morning I got up on Mother’s Day (while wife was sleeping) and headed for the score. Yes, it’s poring down rain too. My poor truck suspension could barely handle the weight but we made it back in one piece! Whooooo!

Was it a mother's day gift for Mrs. cigar smoking zombie? cigarsmokingzombie Nice score...a true dedicated hoarder in the rain! My PU bottomed out last week from a load. Mud and my F150 dont go well together either. Did you score any wood last weekend? IMG_0287.JPG

Yeah, I really need to get a trailer. There were at least 5 truckloads left.

Last weeks score was the cherry.

Ok, I really need an intervention. I couldn’t sleep all night knowing I left so much hickory and ash yesterday. My work is closer to the house with the wood so I brought a change of clothes and thought...man, I can do this...lol. It was still raining BTW. I’m a Banker by day and hoarder by night! Whooooo!

Here is my after work muddy score. I need help, really. My arms are killing me. Hickory is almost as heavy as Mullberry. Ash is easy.

My arms are so sore, I could not unload tonight.

Hell no. Not the way I feel right now. You could see I had more room in the Raptor. The pieces are too big to handle solo I’m sorry to say. I need to recruit local hoarders. Maybe I’ll setup something with Junior Achievement. Future wood hoarders of America.

Ok, I’m just a Paduan. No Jedi yet. I use my tailgate step to roll stuff into the bed. Bent it all the hell up too. Regardless, I’m ok to roll the pieces (good workout), I’m just out of gas to roll them into the bed. The ones left are twice the size of the ones I posted :( I need to make/buy a roll ramp of some sort.

On the wedge point, yes, guess I could split though I haven’t hand split that much. How embarrassing I pull out a giant wedge and it gets stuck lol. That wood is wet.

I don’t think I want to use a blade either. My rule of thumb, if I can’t lift, leave it alone.

20" bar on your bigger saw and noodle (rip with the grain) the logs in half/quarter if no sledge and wedge? I have no experience with a hydro splitter!
