Went out to give the mouse patrol their rations after seeing that they had formed a dinner line (they do this if you wait too long  ) IMG_20240623_204454499.jpg
When I opened the door this catbird was busy scolding them (sitting on the clothesline pole crossarm...sorry, a little blurry from the zoom)

    Then I noticed the sunset...

‘Riders in the Sky’ came to mind when I spied this longhorn.

4 years and those gaskets were spanked, the door had almost no adjustment left. I’ll have to call Woodstock today and get some of the stove cement, mine was a solid block.

I will give them some credit, very easy to work on and very few tools needed. I will have you know my hourly rate is very high and the quality of work is average on a good day.

I just happen to believe you do very good work. However, I may not like your hourly rates. You are right about the stove being easy to work on.

Appears to be Johnson grass, a member of the corn family.

I guess I’ll have to buy ear corn then. Time to mow it down. Thanks.

Thanks bud. It's a bummer. No house or garage damage. It just ruined our "enchanted" forest. It was always dark and cool in there. We have all kinds of walking trails through it. Now its all bright and opened up and will start growing ground level crap everywhere. We won't live long enough to see it return to what it was.

I saw on the radar that it looked like the leading edge of the storm could be troublesome. Fortunately it was moving mostly south and the bad part of the storm stayed west of us. We got .45" of rain and just a little lightning.

That big curve on the front of a storm is not fun for sure.

Yikes. If we saw something like that around here, most would have wet legs.
