Liver can be good eats, depends on how the animal was handled after dispatch. Any liver is fair game for the most part, venison from a rutting buck is usually a NO. Braunsweiger on rye bread with a big slab of onion or liver and onions, liver pate'. I'd give the mush a try if it was available. Time to go recipe hunting....
The freshest liver I ever had was for lunch on opening day of deer season. Venison liver and onions. Liver is only palatable with lots and lots of fried onions.
Some folks do, I tried liver & onions as a kid & have never had any desire to attempt it again. Chicken livers & gizzards are pretty popular, again not my deal. I tried gizzards once & thought I had scooped up a handful of pebbles & tossed them in my mouth. Both of my brothers & a couple of nieces like gizzards, chicken liver & liver wurst. The only use use I have for liver is feeding it to the dogs & catfishing.
No worries. I've eaten less that one bite in my life as I spit that out when the parents forced me to try it. Lol
There’s only two foods I absolutely hate, … and they’re both liver! Fastest way I know of to ruin a perfectly good onion
I was in the bucket truck cleaning up a storm damaged pine. Happened to look at my storage area from above and thought I’d share
Well, guess I fall in the “Liver Lover” group. Liver and onions yummm! Fried chicken livers another yummm. Never did acquire a taste for pickled pigs feet though
